About Obsidian Fields

Obsidian Fields was founded in 1997 as a full-service design, technical, and creative company serving the advertising and marketing industries. We began in Tampa, Florida, and in 2009 moved to Portland, Oregon. We have clients throughout the United States, for whom we do Web and print design, Web programming, image retouching, and pre-press.

Our client base has expanded beyond the advertising and marketing community. We now have clients in fields as diverse as poster prints, electronics fabrication, wedding photography, and retail sales.

This Web site is implemented using a content management system called MODx, with a custom-designed template. MODx allows simple, rapid templating and much greater ease of use than more well-known CMS systems such as Drupal and Joomla.

Obsidian Fields is also the parent company of VillainTees, a maker of unique counterculture T-shirts, and Symtoys, maker of the computer game Onyx.
